Michelle Obama’s Becoming is already one of 2018’s most popular books and breaking numerous sales records.
According to Publishers Weekly, Penguin Random House has confirmed that Becoming has had the largest single-day sales total for any book it published in 2018. Barnes & Noble also confirmed that the book had the biggest first-week sales of the year, surpassing Bob Woodward’s Fear and James Comey’s A Higher Loyalty.
The former First Lady’s memoir sold over 725,000 copies on the first day of its publication last Tuesday in the U.S. and Canada. Crown Publishing even produced Becoming with a first printing run of 1.8 million hardcover copies. After further demand, the publisher has already returned to the press for an additional 800,000 hardcover editions.
