Barry Jenkins’ ‘Underground Railroad’ Adaptation Fills Out Cast

Barry Jenkins, the director of If Beale Street Could Talk, has another literary adaptation in the works at Amazon.

Published in 2016, The Underground Railroad is an alternative history novel about two slaves, Cora and Caesar, who make a bid for freedom by following the Underground Railroad. The draw to the story is that the railroad is depicted as an actual railroad rather than just a series of safe routes.
