Archie’s Veronica Becomes a Vampire in Blood-Sucking New Series!

This may sound weird to many Archie Comics fans and those who watch Riverdale religiously should watch their backs, too.

We already know the Riverdale gang has gotten into some serious trouble while investigating the death of Jason Blossom, but now there’s a more monstrous turn in the story. Just like Jughead has been portrayed as a werewolf in a past series, now Veronica gets her turn.

In a new branch of the Archie Comic series, Vampironica, the dark-haired beauty gets bitten after a party and is transformed into a blood-sucking vampire. She’s now caught in middle ground; wanting to quench her thirst for blood, but also trying to help her friends fight off the monsters taking over Riverdale. So what are we to expect from her in this series? Megan Smallwood, the co-creator along with her brother Greg, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the revamped character:

Veronica’s character has always had this brevity to her, you always know where she’s coming from — usually a place of selfishness or vanity… As a fan, I’m used to her playing opposite to Betty’s good naturedness but Vampironica will be a little different in that aspect. The story and supporting cast is seen through Veronica’s perspective and that lends itself well to building more complex aspects of her personality.

This sounds like its going to be a good one. Until its release in stores on March 14th, check out some previews below!
