Each week, Bookstr features an individual in the Bookstagram community sharing their love of books through photography. If you are looking to add satisfying shelfies that will bring pops of color to your feed, then check out this week’s Bookstagrammer, @ancareads.

Why did you start your Bookstagram?
I’ve always loved books, but I noticed my reading tastes were very different from the people around me, so and I wanted to connect with people who love more of the same books as I do.
Where are you from?
I’m from The Netherlands
What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?
My bookstagram is all about enjoying books, connecting to people, and (hopefully) bright, fun shots.
Fun Fact about you:
I don’t like strawberries. Whenever I mention this, people get this look on their face like I’m crazy, lol.
Oof… I have so many people I love and adore, but some of my absolute favorites are @thelittlelibrarian, @thepagemistress, @ramblesandreads, @readswithmj, and @wondrouslybooked. Not only do all of them have a stunning feed, but they’re also all wonderful and supportive people.
Favorite Books and Authors:
Again, I have so many, but at the moment I’m obsessed with the Green Creek series by TJ Klune, Strange the Dreamer, The Night Circus, and The Simple Wild. Anything by Penelope Douglas, Victoria Schwab, and Brandon Sanderson will always be on my favorites list.
Lorcan Salvaterre is the bookish love of my life <3
I have an epically long TBR, but the books at the top right now are Addie LaRue, Words of Radiance, Once and Future Witches, and The House in the Cerulean Sea.
What’s Your Special Approach to Content?
I’m not sure if I have a special approach per se, but I do try to post what I want to post, not what I think will do good. Of course, I love it when a post does well, but ultimately, it’s my feed and I have to love it. I’m still a little amazed so many other people seem to enjoy my ramblings, tbh…
Aesthetic / Instagram page theme:
Bright, vibrant, and fun!
How often do you post?
I post six days a week
What does your Bookstagram mean to you?
It’s my happy place, my safe haven, where I get to talk about my passion for reading and connect with likeminded people
It’s actually a bookstore in Dublin, Hodges Figgis, where I rediscovered my love of books while I was living there some years ago. I spent many an afternoon there, just browsing all the wonderful books.
Who would you have supply you with a lifetime of books?
My best friend Alyssa (@thelittlelibrarian), because she knows me and my reading tastes really well and has excellent tastes in books herself.
Author to take a selfie with:
Favorite book cover:
The Binding, it’s one stunning book!
Book you have claimed to have read that you didn’t:
None, I don’t see the point in claiming to have read a book when I didn’t….
When did you know you had made it as a Bookstagrammer?
I’ll let you know when it happens ;)
I’m more about characters, tbh. I’m obsessed with everything Lorcan and I love Penryn from Angelfall so so much! If you haven’t read that highly underrated trilogy, I would recommend you do so ASAP!
Advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers:
Post when and what you want, engage, find bookstagrammers you love and just be yourself and have fun!
Although I’m Dutch, 99% of the books I read are in English.
I keep my bookshelves extremely neat and tidy, what you see in my shelfies, is actually what my shelves look like on a day to day basis.
