Amber Tamblyn, who we all know from the film adaptations of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, has used her platform to bring awareness to issues through poetry, prose, and her voice. She’s released three books of poetry, including Dark Sparkler, which was released last year. It features poems that reflect on actresses who have been lost too soon like Marilyn Monroe and Brittany Murphy.
In her next work, Tamblyn will focus on a novel that will be released by 2018. According to Vulture, “Tamblyn’s first fiction work will center on “an amorphous serial rapist” and promises to break ground “on how we contemplate rape culture.”
Earlier this year, Tamblyn released an extremely personal statement about sexual assault via her Instagram after the release of the Trump tape. Her novel is reminiscent of the horrors she’s faced and working through society’s views of assualt and abuse.
The topic of her novel is sure to break some barriers.
