Paper Girls follows four 12-year-old newspaper delivery girls who, in the morning of Halloween in 1988 while delivering the newspaper, accidentally uncover the most important story of all time and become unwittingly caught in a conflict between warring factions of time-travelers, which sends them on an adventure through time to save the world.

Amazon had previously committed to the series back in 2019 but a formal pick-up was just finalized. The project comes from Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, and Stephany Folsom (Toy Story 4), Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers (Halt and Catch Fire) will serve as co-showrunners.
