Cole took to Instagram to share her excitement at the announcement of her adaptation with Netflix. She is even set to be an executive producer for the film. A sequel was recently released on June 25 for A Thousand Boy Kisses titled A Thousand Broken Pieces which follows Poppy’s younger sister through her journey with grief.

Movie Adaptation
Stephen Chbosky is set to direct the film adaptation, his previous work includes The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Wonder. The script will be written by Liz Maccie, the writer of the Freeform original series, Siren, with David Hoberman producing the film. Chbosky and Maccie have previously worked together on a comedy starring Vince Vaughn.
A Thousand Boy Kisses was originally published in 2016 by Bloom Books and soon became an international phenomenon after landing on the New York Times bestseller list for seven months. Chbosky also directed a Broadway adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen for Universal.
Fans who cried while reading the book should consider having tissues next to them when they watch the film on Netflix. We cannot wait to hear more about this exciting adaptation, such as who the stars are and when the movie will be released.
