Why did you start your Bookstagram?
I am actually an introvert, and I started my account to find fellow bookworms and step out of my comfort zone in a safe way.
Where are you from?
I am originally from Brooklyn, New York, but now live in South Florida but miss home terribly.
What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?
I want to bring a little magic, joy, and love, especially to those like me, that struggle with mental and physical health- I am very open about my bad days and my good days, and I want others to know that being sad or having those bad days doesn’t mean you’re broken or undesirable.
Fun Fact about you:
I can curse in five different languages…cause I am a lady.
I have so many that I truly admire but off the top of my head – @allegedlymari, @girlsinbooks, and @fearyourex. I love how kind and caring they are.
Favorite Books and Authors:
A very tough question as I find myself falling in love with new books and authors so often, but I will always love Alice in Wonderland, and currently I hold Cresent City very close to my heart as it was the last book I read with my mother before she passed and Serpent and Dove – I am obsessed with that book as I see a lot of myself in Lou.
Jace from TMI and Jacob Black (I have always been team Jacob).
Ugh, my TBR threatens to bury me alive on a daily basis, but I tend to read based on my mood, so I try not to set a solid monthly list to follow.
What’s your special approach to content?
I honestly just post what I love and feel in the moment. I tried to set a schedule and post certain things on certain days and found myself resenting the process.
Aesthetic / Instagram page theme:
It changes mostly seasonally, but I love to try and portray cozy vibes with a bit of witchy magic.
How often do you post?
Honestly, it depends on my workload and my caffeine intake but most days twice a day.
What does your Bookstagram mean to you?
A sense of belonging. I have found my tribe, but and though some days I feel less than I love being part of a book-loving community that is so accepting.
It used to be Borders, but we all know what happened there…but I love little shops off the beaten path, which sadly you don’t find many of here in SoFlo.
Who would you have supply you with a lifetime of books?
Amazon for sure!! Gimme all the books Zon!
Author to take a selfie with:
Ugh, another toughie, but I would love to take a selfie with Colleen Hoover. She’s just an amazing human.
Favorite book cover:
Also ever-changing, but I love sort of gothic vibes Like Blood and Honey.
Book you have claimed to have read that you didn’t:
I only review books I have actually read. I feature a lot of books but don’t claim to have read them unless I have.
When did you know you had made it as a Bookstagrammer?
Have I made it? I think there is still A LOT of room for growth and improvement. Often, I feel like a small fishy in a wide and beautiful sea where there is room for me to grow and explore.
Shadow Hunters – Alice in Wonderland and basically anything witchy.
Advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers:
Just be you and do what you love and explore your style don’t box yourself in.
Can we just start a petition for Serpent and Dove to be made a movie??
