5 Audiobooks Are Nominated for Grammys

The Grammys aren’t just about music! This year, five authors and readers have a chance to be honored as well. Five audiobooks are up for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Spoken Word Album.

The list of nominees is very diverse. Comedian Amy Poehler is up for the award, as is former president Jimmy Carter. Both of them are nominated for reading their own memoirs. They’ll compete with musician, artist, and author Patti Smith, who narrates Jo Nesbø’s novel, as well as two others.

All five of the Spoken Word category nominees are audiobooks this year, so we can be sure that at least one audiobook will win a Grammy in 2016.

The winner will be announced during the 58th Grammys award show, which takes place on February 15, 2016. You can catch it on CBS at 8/7c.
