We have always been told to never judge a book by its cover. But I think it’s fair to say that a nice front cover can help. Here are 3 of some of the coolest front covers and let’s see if what lies within them is just as eye-catching.
This 2014 novel by Korean author Yū Miri follows the story of a homeless ghost who haunts one of Tokyo’s busiest train stations. It takes readers through Kazu’s life, a series of unfortunate and often devastating events which all build-up to his ultimate fate of a ghost.
Released in late 2020, Aphasia by Mauro Javier Càrdenas details Antonio Jose Jiménez’s life after choosing to immigrate to the United States. His struggle with self-identity and family trauma mirror the disorganized and unstructured home on the front cover.
This novel by Lynn Steger Strong was named Best Book of 2020 by Time Magazine. It is an intensely personal novel following the life of the main character, Elizabeth in New York City. She struggles to balance her work life with her dreams and aspirations. The typical American dream story is now more timely than ever as so many struggles to come back after 2020’s setbacks.
While the covers are what might draw you in, the stories that lie within them definitely live up to the bright colors and abstract designs.
