2020 Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Awards Winners Announced

Today, the Rona Jaffe Foundation has announced the six recipients of their 2020 Writers’ Awards. The Writers’ Awards were created to distinguish and support emerging and promising women writers in the early stages of their writing careers.

Today, the Rona Jaffe Foundation has announced the six recipients of its 2020 Writers’ Awards. The Writers’ Awards were created to distinguish and support emerging and promising women writers in the early stages of their writing careers. The winners are also awarded a $30,000 grant, along with the prestigious award. Previous winners include Tracy K. Smith, Lan Samantha Chang, Eula Bliss, and ZZ Packer.

The 2020 winners are as follows: Hannah Bae for nonfiction, Mari Christmas for fiction, Yalitza Ferreras for fiction, Temim Fruchter for fiction, Elisa Gonzalez for poetry, and Charleen McClure for poetry. The winners will be celebrated during a free virtual reading that is set for Thursday, September 17 at 7 pm, as part of New York University’s Creative Writing Program Reading Series.
