Childhood books were the foundation for a lifetime of loving books. Some would say that beloved author E.B. White started that foundation.
On this day in 1899, American writer E.B. White was born. Widely known for his works such as Charlotte’s Web and Stuart Little, he shaped lots of childhoods.
Today, July 11th, marks legendary author E.B. White’s 119th birthday. White is best known for his children’s books, Charlotte’s Web and Stuart Little. Despite being written over 65 years ago, Charlotte’s Web is still a widely read and beloved book for elementary-age children, and was voted the #1 children’s book in a School Library Journal survey in 2012.
